Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) needs patient reviewers

Afib patients are needed as patient reviewers to help PCORI decide what patient-centered research to fund

June 19, 2014

  • Summary:  The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) needs patients as reviewers for grant proposals
  • Reading time: 1–2 minutes

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is seeking patients to review grant proposals for patient-centered research and help select those that will get funded.

PCORI defines a patient as “a person with ongoing, recent, or past lived experience with illness or injury, family members or unpaid caregivers of patients, or members of advocacy organizations that represent patients or caregivers”.

If you’re willing to be a reviewer, you can apply online using the Merit Review Application.

If PCORI receives proposals that match your expertise, you may be invited to serve on a panel. Reviewers will be expected to complete an online training to prepare for the review process. Reviewers will be compensated for proposals reviewed and panel sessions attended.

For more information, see the PCORI Merit Review website.
