there tHERE are a lot of people with Atrial fib.and mechanical valve also.Part of them are waiting for a warfarin substitute. There is any chance to start new trails for people in similar situation like me? Anita.

I am looking for some advice I suffer from a mild case of AF where I need to take 2 daily apixiban 5mlg. I use to take a single aspirin, however, I was instructed by my doctor that aspirin no longer did the job of keeping my blood thin, taken to help prevent a possible stroke. So my question is is apixiban my only option or could I revert back to taking a daily aspirin. Please not warfarin is not an option for me. Any help would be appreciated.

      Hi Brian,

Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding your afib and questions about apixiban. You may be interested in joining our patient discussion forum (http://forum.stopafib.org/index.php) to connect with other patients who collectively have a great amount of knowledge and experience. You may want to post your story there, and you may also learn a lot from others who have already shared their experience. I hope that you are able to find others to connect with there that can give you advice, suggestions, and hope. There are many resources on living with afib that you might find helpful. Best of luck to you! We wish you sinus rhythm.
