  • Summary: Dr. Randall Wolf: the creator of the mini maze procedure.
  • Reading time: 2–3 minutes

Saturday afternoon at this year’s Get in Rhythm. Stay in Rhythm.® Virtual Atrial Fibrillation Patient Conference (which is October 30 – November1), you’ll hear about surgery, featuring two big names in the afib surgery world. One of those is Randall Wolf, MD, the afib pioneer who created the mini maze procedure, a minimally invasive surgical ablation procedure for afib. This is Dr. Wolf’s fifth time joining us at the patient conference.

Dr. Wolf has performed more than 1,000 mini maze procedures and has demonstrated the procedure to more than 600 heart surgeons worldwide. He has been a visiting professor—a remarkable honor—in 18 countries, including at Oxford University, the University of Tokyo, and Peking University.

In addition to being the first North American heart surgeon to perform DaVinci cardiac surgery, Dr. Wolf has delivered hundreds of lectures at hospitals, academic meetings, and seminars in the U.S. and abroad. He has more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and textbook chapters and was the inaugural co-editor of the journal Innovations. He has served as President of both the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery and the 21st Century Cardiothoracic Surgery Club.

And, when Dr. Wolf isn’t performing surgeries or giving lectures, he performs stage and close-up magic!

On Saturday, October 31, Dr. Wolf will discuss the mini maze procedure, convergent procedure, and hybrid procedures, as well as who is a candidate for these procedures and the typical results from each. He will talk about what to expect before, during, and after these procedures, as well as what to consider if you’re traveling to have a procedure.

Dr. Wolf is a true pioneer in afib surgery, renowned and respected around the world. When you register for the Get in Rhythm. Stay in Rhythm.® Virtual Atrial Fibrillation Patient Conference, you’ll get to hear directly from Dr. Wolf and other experts. You can do so here:
