Webinar Replay is Now Available: How to Know When It’s Safe to Have an Afib Catheter Ablation

Dr. Suneet Mittal shares how to know if it’s safe to have an atrial fibrillation procedure during and after the COVID-19 pandemic

August 25, 2020

  • Summary: Watch the Webinar: How to Know When It’s Safe to Have an Afib Catheter Ablation During and After COVID-19.
  • Reading time: 2–3 minutes

A couple of weeks ago, we were so fortunate to have Cardiac Electrophysiologist Dr. Suneet Mittal join us for our How to Know When It’s Safe to Have a Catheter Ablation webinar. It was our intent to give you peace of mind if you need to pursue treatment during the pandemic.

Dr. Mittal is the Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory and Associate Chief of Cardiology at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey, which was in the epicenter of the pandemic this spring. He and his colleagues were in the trenches, and they gained invaluable experience when it comes to protecting patients who chose to have procedures.

Whether you signed up but couldn’t watch the webinar live, or you’d like to see it again, I wanted to let you know that the replay is now available in our StopAfib.org Library (which, in addition to this webinar, contains a collection of conference replays, master classes, and other webinars).

Just follow this link (we’ve included instructions for accessing the Library, just below the link):

Here is a quick reminder about what Dr. Mittal and I covered during the webinar:

  • What catheter ablation is, how it’s done, how it compares to other treatment options, success rates and risks, and what you need to know about the safety of the procedure in today’s environment.
  • Information about the impact of timing on the success of catheter ablation, including whether or not there are risks associated with delaying the procedure.
  • Whether afib patients are at increased risk for COVID-19, and what doctors’ offices and hospitals can do to protect you from exposure, keep you safe, and help you feel comfortable should you seek treatment.
  • What you can expect before, during, and after catheter ablation, and its impact on your treatment plan.
  • And so much more.

After watching this webinar in our StopAfib.org Library, you may want to peruse the other materials we’ve made available as a gift to you; it’s a wealth of carefully curated video content. This is a great place to get reliable information from the very same experts our doctors learn from.
