StopAfib.org CEO Mellanie True Hills will be keynoting the First Annual Women’s Power Pulse Luncheon & Expo, sponsored by Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. Both the luncheon and the expo will take place on Friday, February 12, 2010 at the McAllen Convention Center. The expo will go from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, with musical guest Chris Marshall providing entertainment. The luncheon will occur from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Mellanie will inform women who attend the luncheon about heart disease prevention, stress-management and living a healthier lifestyle. Luncheon tickets cost $25 and provide access to the expo as well.

Proceeds from the luncheon will be used to purchase automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for schools and first responders in the community. An AED defibrillator is a portable electronic device that diagnoses two types of potentially life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. AEDs automatically diagnose the heart rhythm and determine if a shock is needed for resuscitation.
